We acknowledge the efforts and enthusiasm of the people whose idea for a community radio station in the Comox Valley came long ago, and the spirit that has carried the idea through to this incarnation. Here’s a brief timeline:
May-2023
A meeting was organized and society registration soon followed.
Jun-2023
Comox Valley Community Broadcasting Society stream was first launched by Julian Rendell.
A stream with station IDs was launched by Jean Sarrazin.
Nov-2023
During the Woodstove Festival a very low power FM transmitter was set up temporarily in Cumberland to broadcast during the Festival.
Jan-2024
The cloud service changed under the leadership of Marc Gerrard.
Jun-2024
Get on the Dial campaign announced with the goal of financing live FM broadcasting.
Sep-2024
Began application to CRTC for a license to operate a broadcast facility.
Began ISED application to obtain a frequency and call letters.
Feb-2025
Community Events page added to website.
Sep-2025
CVOX re-branded as DIG FM with new website domain and style.
Hired a broadcast engineer on contract to assist with technical issues and applying for licenses.
