David Vest is a Blues piano player originally from Alabama but currently living in Victoria, BC. In the 1960s he opened for Roy Orbison but he has also shared the stage with Bo Diddley, Duke Ellington and Jimmy Dorsey. Tickets

While chamber music is typically classical in style, the real meaning of chamber music is simply a small ensemble that can play in a small room (a chamber). As a result you not only get the beautiful classical pieces but some pretty wacky contemporary stuff too. Quadra Festival Site
Gitxaala, Heiltsuk, Haida and UK artist James Vickers is 18 years old but he has been performing since he was 11 years old, including at the Blues Challenge in Memphis. Tickets
The Jazz Jams at the Mex are another great effort to showcase local talent. And we do have some amazing local talent. They now have a suggested donation of $5-20.
CVAG hosts a fun gathering every last Friday of the month in June, July and August. Each one has a special theme. It will be a celebration of Indigenous culture, creativity and community. While it isn’t strictly live music it will include music by Greg Wells and the aforementioned James Vickers. FREE!
