This episode includes a panel of speakers on the 40th Anniversary of the Miners’ Memorial Week-End in Cumberland, BC. The panel discussed the story of the event’s origins and some of the highlights of the past 40 years.
The coal mines in Cumberland, BC were some of the most dangerous in Canada, due to unsafe working conditions and work-related illnesses.
The Memorial events are a yearly chance to remember the miners who lost their lives in work accidents and to remind us of the need to continue fighting for safe and healthy working conditions.
